One of my favorite hobbies is obsessing over college football, especially during the chaos of conference championship weekend. With 12 teams in contention and 2⁵ possible scenarios for the College Football Playoff, keeping track of every outcome can be overwhelming. To make sense of it all, I created a visualization for each potential playoff seed based on different championship results, including scenarios where spots were still up for grabs. The probabilities were determined using Vegas betting lines to provide a data-driven perspective on likely outcomes.
I took everyone's March Madness-style playoff brackets and built a visualization similar to ESPN's bracket tracker, allowing participants to see who had the best odds of winning the pool based on different results. This project combined my passion for sports analytics with my skills in data visualization, making it both a fun and insightful way to break down the madness of the playoff race.
